Ocean Fund Project

Big problems require big solutions!

Every year, millions of tons of plastic enter the oceans, primarily from rivers. And the plastic that is afloat within the oceans is not going away by itself. To effectively solve the problem, we need to both turn off the tap and mop the ocean floor at the same time. The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organisation, is developing and scaling technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic.

The impact of cleanup

Research shows the majority of plastic in the gyres by mass is currently in the larger debris. By removing the plastic while most of it is still large, we prevent it from breaking down into dangerous microplastics.

Our aim is to have removed 90%
of floating ocean plastic by 2040.

We plan to do this by cleaning up the legacy plastic – the plastic already floating in the ocean – and by “closing the tap” through river plastic interception

Sustainable environmental & social development worldwide
Concerned about the nature of this global environmental problem and by donating 5% of its corporate margin, TeleWhale Ltd. fully supports the Ocean Fund project.
Great Pacific Garbage Patch
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is one of the largest trash stockpiles in the ocean. It is formed by marine currents that gradually concentrate the waste into the Pacific Ocean zone. Approximate estimates range the area between 700 thousand to 1.5 million km2.

The site contains more than one hundred million tons of waste. Nowadays, 80% of the trash thrown into the ocean comes from land and the global production of plastic is constantly growing.
Resolving this environmental problem
To promote this environmental initiative, TeleWhale Ltd. employees take part in numerous volunteer projects by cleaning the beaches of its waste and actively assisting organizations engaged in resolving this environmental problem. This is a great contribution to Mother Nature, which TeleWhale Ltd. truly values and fully supports.
